Giant Dipper Roller Coaster at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

The historic Giant Dipper roller coaster at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz dates back to 1924 when Arthur Looff constructed the ride in just 47 days. Designed by Frank Prior and Frederick Church, the Giant Dipper is a 2,640 foot long "double out and back" woodie with a 65-foot drop. The Giant Dipper runs parallel to the famous beach boardwalk and has been in operation now for more 80 years!
